Blind Beauty was born from my personal experience. I’m Hazal, and in 2019, I lost my sight due to a neurological condition. This sudden change made me realise how inaccessible many aspects of life can be—especially the beauty industry. Skincare has always been a passion of mine, but after losing my sight, I struggled to find products designed with accessibility in mind. That frustration led me to create Blind Beauty, a brand that prioritises inclusivity for the blind and visually impaired, while still being suitable for everyone. I’ve made the packaging as accessible as possible, featuring clear text, QR codes, and braille on the logo, and I’ve ensured that the website is designed with accessibility in mind too. I focus on the sensory experience, especially the texture and smell of the products, so they can be enjoyed by all. Additionally, all of my products are vegan, cruelty-free, and suitable for all skin types, because I believe beauty should be for everyone
Blind Beauty isn’t just a skincare brand—it’s a movement towards a more inclusive beauty industry. I’m committed to raising awareness of blindness and the challenges faced by those with visual impairments, while also pushing for greater inclusivity across the beauty industry as a whole. By focusing on accessibility, inclusivity, and breaking down barriers, I hope to inspire change, making the industry more welcoming to everyone, regardless of ability. Blind Beauty aims to not only provide accessible skincare but also to shift perspectives, showing that beauty can and should be inclusive for all.
